Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about booking a makeup artist for your wedding or special event in the Bay Area.

Booking & Payments

For weddings in the Bay Area, I recommend booking 9-12 months in advance, especially for peak season dates (May through October). Popular venues in San Francisco, Napa Valley, and Carmel book up quickly, and so do quality makeup artists. For off-peak dates or smaller events, 3-6 months is usually sufficient.

It's simple: 1) Fill out the inquiry form with your event details, 2) I'll respond within 48 hours with availability and a custom quote, 3) Sign the contract and pay a 50% retainer to secure your date, 4) Schedule your trial 4-6 weeks before the wedding, 5) On your big day, I arrive ready to make you shine!

Yes, a 50% non-refundable retainer is required to secure your date. The remaining balance is due 7 days before your event. This policy ensures I can dedicate your date exclusively to you.

The 50% retainer is non-refundable as it reserves your date exclusively. If you need to reschedule, I'll do my best to accommodate a new date within 12 months, subject to availability. Full payment is non-refundable if cancelled within 30 days of the event.

Makeup Trials

A trial is essential for bridal clients! It allows us to collaborate on your perfect look, test products on your skin, see how makeup photographs, and make any adjustments. You'll feel confident knowing exactly how you'll look on your wedding day. Trials typically last 90 minutes and take place 4-6 weeks before your wedding.

Bring inspiration photos (Pinterest boards are great!), your veil or hairpiece if you have one, and wear a white or cream top to simulate your dress. Come with clean, moisturized skin and no foundation. If you have any skincare concerns, let me know in advance.

Absolutely! Many brides schedule their trial before an engagement shoot, bridal shower, or special dinner. It's a great way to test the longevity of your makeup and see how it photographs in real conditions.

Services & Travel

Yes! I'm based in the Bay Area and regularly travel throughout Northern California including San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, Walnut Creek, Napa Valley, Carmel, Lake Tahoe, and Sacramento. Travel fees apply for locations outside a 30-mile radius from my studio. I'm also available for destination weddings worldwide.

I specialize exclusively in makeup artistry to provide the highest level of skill and service. However, I work closely with several talented hair stylists and can recommend trusted partners who complement my style and professionalism.

Of course! I love creating a cohesive look for the entire bridal party. Bridesmaid and family member makeup is $150 per person and includes skin prep, full makeup application, and lashes. For larger parties, I can bring an assistant artist.

Yes! Touch-up service is available at $100/hour. I'll stay through cocktail hour or longer to ensure you look fresh for photos, the first dance, and beyond. I also provide a complimentary touch-up kit with your bridal package.

Products & Techniques

My kit features high-end, professional-grade products including Charlotte Tilbury, Armani Beauty, Dior, NARS, Pat McGrath, and Chanel. I also carry specialty products for sensitive skin and various undertones. All products are regularly sanitized and replaced to ensure hygiene and quality.

Absolutely! I use professional setting techniques and long-wear products specifically designed for events. My makeup routinely lasts 12+ hours through tears, dancing, California heat, and coastal humidity. The look you see in the morning will still be photo-ready at the end of the night.

Yes! Please inform me of any allergies or sensitivities when booking. I carry hypoallergenic options and can customize my product selection to suit your needs. If you have severe allergies, we can do a patch test during your trial.

I'm trained in both traditional and airbrush techniques and will recommend the best option for your skin type and desired look. Airbrush is great for photography and long wear, while traditional application can offer more dimension and a skin-like finish. We'll discuss this during your consultation.

Wedding Day

I recommend starting 4-5 hours before your ceremony for a bride + bridesmaids. This allows time for the bride's makeup (1-1.5 hours), bridesmaid/family makeup, photos, and getting dressed without feeling rushed. I'll create a detailed timeline when we confirm your booking.

I come to you! Whether it's your home, hotel suite, Airbnb, or venue's bridal suite, I bring everything needed including professional lighting. Just ensure good natural light and a chair in front of a mirror. Many Bay Area venues like Kohl Mansion, Nestldown, and The Mountain Winery have beautiful bridal suites.

Wedding days rarely go exactly as planned! I build buffer time into my schedule and stay flexible. If major timeline changes are needed, communicate with me as early as possible and we'll adjust. Your calm, beautiful experience is my priority.
